The University of Maryland - University College (UMUC) is a public university that is part of the University System of Maryland. The university currently offers over 100 online bachelor's and master's degree programs. The Business and Professional Programs Department within the School of Undergraduate Studies offers a major in human resource management. Certificates and a master's degree in management with a specialization in human resource management are also offered.
The Undergraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management is a 6-course program providing studies in organizational theory, labor relations, employment law, conflict management and federal regulations regarding HR practices. Electives can be taken in employee development, organizational behavior, supervision and compensation management. A graduate Certificate in Foundations of Human Resource Management offers coursework in change management, intercultural communication, employee relations and human resource management theories.
The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree program in Human Resource Management is a 120-credit program that with coursework including labor relations, benefit programs and career development.
