This growth is attributed in part to a rise in the complexity of health care and employment law and regulation.
The BLS also noted compensation for individuals in the HR field may depend on their specialty. In May 2018, HR specialists had a median annual salary of $60,880. Also in 2018, compensation, benefits and job analysis specialists earned a median annual wage of $63,000, while training and development specialists earned a median annual salary of $60,870. Continuing Education and Professional Certification
Individuals with a diploma in human resources may continue their education and earn a bachelor's degree. According to the BLS, a graduate degree is becoming the industry standard. Many organizations offer certifications to HR professionals who meet educational and work experience requirements and pass written exams. The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans offers designations in three specialty areas. It also offers the designation of Certified Employee Benefits Specialist.
