Certificate, bachelor and master's degree programs in hospitality management focus on coursework in international hospitality management and restaurant, food and beverage management. Coursework in these programs combines lectures and practical, hands-on training. Prerequisite to beginning study at the certificate and bachelor level is a high school diploma or its equivalent. Universities do not often offer courses for hospitality degrees. There are however, many schools of hospitality and tourism management that focus solely on degrees in hospitality.
Certificate Programs in Hospitality Management

Students studying to receive a bachelor's degree in hospitality management can choose to major in beverage management, culinary management, event management, hotel & lodging management, restaurant and foodservice management, or travel and tourism management.
Many bachelor's degree programs require 1,000 hours of industry related work as a graduation requirement. Up to 500 hours of prior work experience in the industry can be applied to these hours. An advanced internship is also required for graduation. A minimum of ten weeks and 300 hours is needed to complete the advanced internship.
