Students may also study computer science as a second major or through the university's Developmental Honors program. Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA

Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, hosts approximately 50 different courses all within the realm of computer graphics. Topics studied include animation, computational photography, technical animation, vision sensors, character animation, human motion, and physical simulation. The school was ranked as the 24th-best national university on U.S. News & World Report's 2017 list.

California State University, Chico

Students at California State University's Chico campus can network and participate in special learning events through the Computer Graphics Club. The club is affiliated with the computer animation and game development program, which offers a Bachelor of Science degree. Students in the program can choose between tracks in animation production or game development. Students must also complete a supplemental program in either communication design, which focuses on visual communications, or art studio, which focuses on the fine arts. Each track requires an internship such as at an animated film studio or a game production company.
