About Logan, Utah
Logan is a small, rural city located in the Cache Valley in Utah. Logan has 48,997 residents as of 2014 U.S. census estimates. About 84% of the population is white, nearly 14% is Hispanic and 3.3% was Asian, according to 2010 census info.
The Cache Valley has been a popular gathering place for centuries. The Shoshone Indians called this valley 'the house of the Great Spirit', and the fur trappers rendezvoused in the valley. Logan continues to this day to be a popular destination for travelers and offers a symphony, art galleries and sporting events. Logan Tabernacle, Hyrum Museum and the Nora Eccles Museum of Art are all found in this city.
Recreational activities are abundant here, and the mountains provide hiking, snowshoeing, horseback riding, and fishing options. Natural hot springs are found nearby, as is Beaver Mountain Resort for skiing and snowboarding.
Logan is home to four schools. The largest is Utah State University with nearly 28,000 students. A land-grant university, it has eight academic colleges that provide graduate and undergraduate programs in agriculture, business, engineering, natural sciences and more. Named the 20th best school for online bachelor's programs by U.S. News & World Report in 2016, it also has a few highly ranked graduate programs, including education (30th), audiology (48th), rehabilitation counseling (10th) and speech-language pathology (53rd).
Other schools in the city include a cosmetology school, Stevens-Henager College and Bridgerland Applied Technology College.

According to 2012 census data, Logan's highest employment area was in manufacturing, with about 7,000 jobs. Other major industries included health care and social assistance, with about 3,700 jobs, and retail trade with about the same amount. The top employer in Logan is Utah State University. Other industries in the area include technology and health care.
