MBA in Leadership programs combine business expertise with the interpersonal skills needed for effective leadership and management. They also emphasize critical thinking skills, the development of organizational goals and the establishment of values for a strong corporate culture. Prior to graduation, students must participate in a mentoring program.

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree, and some schools expect candidates to have at least two years of business leadership or career experience prior to application. Salaries in these career areas can vary but are usually on the high end, due to the executive nature of the positions. In May 2018, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported a median annual salary of $189,600 for chief executive officers (www.bls.gov). The BLS also reported a median annual salary of $100,930 for general and operations managers.

An MBA in Leadership can prepare you to take on a supervisory role in a variety of businesses and organizations. Programs can be completed in two years or less, and the curriculum commonly includes topics in management, marketing and statistical research.
