Most online MBA degrees can be earned entirely via distance learning, but some programs require online and on-campus coursework. In online classes, students can often log on to view archived lectures, access class materials and complete assignments at any time, as long as established due dates are respected. Career Information for Graduates

After earning an MBA online, graduates are sometimes hired or promoted to managerial positions. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) stated that companies and government agencies preferred candidates with an MBA degree when hiring management analysts. The BLS predicted a 14% increase in the employment of management analysts from 2018-2028, much faster than average. National BLS figures from May 2018 showed a total of 684,470 management analysts receiving a median annual salary of $83,610.

Students desiring a career advantage over other MBA degree holders may want to pursue a doctoral degree in business administration (DBA).

While an MBA is the terminal degree is considered the terminal degree in business, a doctoral degree in business administration is available for those who want to specialize in research or teach at a university. Many schools offer the option of earning the DBA online. Graduate certificates in areas such as marketing, management and entrepreneurship, can also be obtained by attending courses on campus or by enrolling in a distance-learning program.
