In MIS programs, students take information systems courses, such as database management, enterprise architecture, and enterprise resource planning systems, along with business coursework, such as financial accounting, marketing, and statistics. Programs can take as little as 1-2 years to complete. Depending on the program, students may need to meet specific GPA requirements and earn benchmark GRE scores.


Master's Degree in Information Systems Management

Applicants to an MIS program must have a bachelor's degree in a related field. In order to complete the program, students may be required to complete a capstone or information technology field project. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projected a 11% increase in the employment of computer and information systems managers during the 2018-2028 decade. According to BLS reports from May of 2018, these managers received a mean annual salary of $152,860.

Graduates can enroll in a doctorate program geared toward information systems. A doctorate program develops students into experienced scholars and researchers.
