Marion Technical College (MTC) offers 40 associate's degree and certificate programs to more than 2,000 students per year. Situated on a 180-acre campus and sharing numerous buildings with Ohio State University - Marion, MTC offers a host of opportunities for recreational activities and membership with student clubs and organizations. MTC has an open-door admissions policy and transfer agreements with many 4-year colleges and universities in Ohio. Health technologies programs at MTC include associate's degrees in health information technology, office information and medical assisting.

The Associate of Applied Business in Office Information - Medical Option program can be completed in four semesters and consists of 61 credit hours of coursework. Students learn medical terminology, medical insurance and billing, medical office procedures and office management. This program prepares students for all aspects of working in a medical office, including scheduling appointments, creating spreadsheets, billing customers and insurance companies, managing accounts and classifying medical procedures. The Medical Assisting Certificate program requires three semesters of courses cover topics in medical office procedures, clinical procedures and insurance billing and coding. This 40-credit program prepares students for entry-level work in medical offices.
