Located about 15 miles southwest of Cleveland, Middleburg Heights has a population of 15,751, based on 2014 U.S. Census Bureau estimates. The median household income for Middleburg Heights residents for 2010-2014 was $59,361, and more than 91 percent of the city's residents were white, as of 2010.

At the heart of Middleburg Heights is its Community and Recreation Center, which features indoor and outdoor pools, a walking/jogging track, a 2-court gym and a community hall, among other amenities. Residents and visitors also are close enough to Cleveland to enjoy its many major league sports teams, including Major League Baseball's Cleveland Indians, the National Football League's Cleveland Browns and the National Basketball Association's Cleveland Cavaliers.

Education in Middleburg

Polaris Career Center, a small public school with under 300 students, is the only not-for-profit postsecondary school in Middleburg Heights. PCC offers certificates in HVAC-R, criminal justice, cosmetology, precision production and several health-related fields.

Within a 20-mile radius of Middleburg Heights, there are colleges and universities to meet nearly every student's needs. These include 2-year schools like the Cuyahoga Community College District and Lorain County Community College, large public universities like Cleveland State University, small private schools including Baldwin Wallace and John Carroll universities, and even a nationally ranked school, Case Western Reserve University.

Economy of Middleburg Heights

Once based mainly on farming, particularly various varieties of onions, Middleburg's economy today revolves around retail and light manufacturing. Top employers in the area include Southwest General Health Center, UPS, and direct marketing company AmeriMark Direct. Additionally, many residents commute to jobs in Cleveland.
