Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) notes that, as of March 2018, the Milwaukee-Waukesha-West Allis Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) had an unemployment rate of 3.1%, a full percentage point below the national average of 4.1% at that same time.
