Essential Information

Graduate certificates in financial management can be earned completely online, but many programs require courses that are available only on campus. Courses may be found in certificate programs specific to financial management, non-profit management or business. These certificates are generally intended for professionals who want to improve their skills. A bachelor's degree may be required in order to enroll, and applicants usually need to have taken undergraduate coursework in accounting and/or finance as well.

Financial management certificate courses may transfer to a graduate-level degree, depending on the school or university where the certificate originated. Graduates may be prepared to pursue voluntary certification.
