Get Your Start in Business

Studying entrepreneurship isn't just about opening your own business. Developing an entrepreneurial mindset can help you become a leader in any organization, from the corporate world to small business and non-profits.

In a typical entrepreneurship program, you may learn to develop and implement a business plan, manage capital and balance costs and revenues. Many programs also include internship and mentorship opportunities to give you hands-on experience in the business world.

But like any other subject, not all entrepreneurship programs are created equal. So how do you know where to get the best education in the field?

Luckily, The Princeton Review has done your homework for you. Their annual rankings of undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship programs, recently published in Entrepreneur, are based on the following criteria:

Academics

Whether the school offers a major or minor in entrepreneurship, the type and quality of courses in the field and related academic requirements - such as internships and experiential learning.

Students and faculty

What percentage of the student body was enrolled in the entrepreneurship program and entrepreneurship-related courses in 2009-2010, as well as what percentage of students had started a business since graduating and how many were still in business. Additionally, what percentage of faculty had started, bought or run a successful business.

Extracurricular

Partnerships with other schools, student clubs and organizations, officially sponsored mentorship programs and non-curriculum-based activities such as entrepreneurship competitions.
