In September 2019, PayScale.com reported average annual earnings for entry level and experienced welders between $40,458 and $51,141. The site indicated that welders in late career earned up to $52,550 a year.
Though welders began working in steel, the field has since expanded to include materials such as titanium, plastic or aluminum.
