University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

School Highlight: Online master's degree programs in engineering granted in aerospace engineering, civil and environmental engineering, computer science, and mechanical engineering.

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is a 4-year, public university with 17 colleges. In the 2017 U.S. News and World Report rankings, it placed 44th among national universities; the school's undergraduate engineering programs ranked sixth in the nation in 2017 ( U of I Online offers Master of Engineering and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree programs. Several engineering certificates are also available for non-degree seeking students.

University of Wisconsin - Madison

School Highlight: Ranked #6 for online graduate engineering programs by U.S. News and World Report in 2017.

University of Wisconsin - Madison is a 4-year public institution that tied for 44th place among national universities on U.S. News and World Report's 2017 list of best colleges. The school offers nine engineering master's degree programs online, including a Master of Science in Engineering and eight more narrowly focused degree programs. Students may attend full-time or part-time and are given a maximum of seven years to complete the online program.

Arizona State University in Scottsdale, AZ

School Highlight: Among the school's online bachelor's and master's degree programs in engineering, only the BS in Electrical Engineering program is ABET-accredited.

Arizona State University offers 22 online programs in Engineering and Technology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Undergraduates can enroll in bachelor's degree programs in software engineering, electrical engineering or engineering management, as well as related technology topics. At the graduate level, students can find Master of Science (MS), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and professional Master of Engineering (MEng) programs available. For 2017, ASU was ranked #129 among national universities by U.S. News & World Report.
