Career Definition for a TV Advertisement Designer

TV advertisement designers, also called broadcast advertisement designers, use beauty, humor, irony, camp, or shock value--whatever it takes to rivet viewers' attention during television commercials. Their work takes shape in a dynamic atmosphere, often as part of a team including ad-agency clients, account managers, art directors, copywriters, and media researchers. After sketching out initial concepts on storyboards, they use software to manipulate film and video images of live actors, products, backgrounds, logos, animation, and 3D art.

Required Education

In May 2017, the BLS reported median earnings of $70,530 per year for multimedia artists and animators, whose jobs were expected to grow 8% from 2016-2026, which is as fast as the national average.
