Florida State College at Jacksonville is a 4-year public school that's part of the Florida College System. The institution offers primarily associate's degree and certificate programs, although it does provide some bachelor's degree programs in specific fields. Its student enrollment reaches more than 28,000 individuals per year. The college's School of Information Technology offers programs ranging from database development to computer networking.

Students learn the basic procedures behind installing, maintaining and repairing computer network systems in the Advanced Network Support Technical Certificate program. Courses focus both on theoretical and practical learning styles; they span 31 credit hours of topics such as network fundamentals, wireless fundamentals, switching, routing and network management. In the Associate of Science in Networking Services Technology program, students learn how to manage network software and hardware. They study project management and organizational behavior in addition to networking theory, systems design and network optimization.
