The University of Maryland - University College (UMUC) is a public university that is part of the University System of Maryland. The university currently offers over 100 online bachelor's and master's degree programs. The Department of Computer Information Systems and Technology at UMUC offers a variety of undergraduate and graduate programs with coursework in computer programming, though only bachelor's-level options are discussed here.
The Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program prepares students for both post-graduation employment in fields like computer programming or software engineering, and for graduate studies. Students take courses in calculus, computer science, programming languages and discrete structures. A capstone experience is required for graduation.
The Bachelor of Science in Software Development and Security program offers several programming courses. In addition to introductory and intermediate programming courses, students can learn about programming languages for MACs and PCs. C#, Java and Objective programming languages are discussed.
