Arizona State has 14 colleges and schools, and the W.P. Carey of School of Business is one of the largest institutions for higher learning in the country. Established in 1897, ASU ranked second for Up-and-Coming-Schools in 2010, according to U.S. News and World Report. As of 2013, it has a student population of 76,771.
The school offers a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, which is designed for those interested in becoming a Certified Public Accountant. The program includes core accountancy and finance courses. A spring internship component is also part of the program, and students can go on to become financial analysts, credit analysts and accountants. The Bachelor of Science in Finance offers courses in financial markets, finance, managerial finance and investments. Students can utilize the department's Investment Banking Industry Scholars Program.
The Master of Accountancy trains students for careers as accountants and consultants. Core courses include controls analysis, auditing, financial accounting and business security. The Master of Business Administration/Finance offers full-time, evening or online courses. Students can choose their concentration, which includes finance, supply chain financial management and financial management and markets. Lastly, a Ph.D. in Business Administration is available, which offers a concentration in either finance or accounting. Students take courses in economics and statistics, and they get to enhance their critical analysis and research skills.
