Metro Technology Centers (Metro Tech) provides training and career programs, in addition to specialized training courses for high school students and adults. Students interested in electrician-related training can pursue a residential electrician's assistant or electrician's assistant unlimited certificate. A related electronics technician program is also available.

The Residential Electrician's Assistant program goes over the basics of installing, diagnosing and repairing residential electrical systems. Students learn about wiring methods, electrical safety, first aid at the workplace, direct current circuits and blueprint reading. Students enrolled in the Unlimited Electrician's Assistant program are trained to deal with electrical systems for commercial, industrial and residential locations. Courses within the program include wiring within the different sectors, alternate current/direct current (AC/DC) circuitry, and electrical code.

The Electronics Technician Certificate program covers electronic equipment and circuits, as well as how to sustain, fix and install a variety of electronics. Topics include data communications, AC/DC circuits, soldering, mechanical fasteners and semiconductors.
