Established in 1927, this university is home to more than 40,000 students and awards over 8,000 degrees each year. Across a dozen colleges, students can choose from over 300 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. UH has a student-to-faculty ratio of 22 to 1.
The C.T. Bauer College of Business offers a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, a Master of Science in Marketing and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Marketing. All BBA students are required to complete a pre-business core in subjects like financial accounting, economics and mathematics. Required advanced business courses include international business, globalization, business analysis and manufacturing operations. Marketing students complete coursework in selling and marketing planning and can take electives in advertising, electronic commerce or sales management.
The Master of Science in Marketing program is available on a part-time basis, with the classes during the week being held in the evening. This degree can be completed in 2 years, with the early part of the program including courses such as accounting and marketing management, and a large part of the program consisting of free electives.
The Ph.D. in Marketing includes core courses in consumer behavior and marketing strategy and can also include courses in marketing psychology and research methods. The required coursework typically takes 2 years. Students must propose, complete and defend a dissertation based on original research and may take research courses in subjects like economics, quantitative analysis, psychology and statistics.
