Most of the schools offering healthcare administration programs in the field within a 10-mile radius of Boise are private for-profit schools, but there is also one large public university with related programs. On account of school rankings, school type and program options, the following school is considered a top area school for healthcare administration:

Boise State University

Boise State University had an enrollment of more than 22,000 students as of fall 2014. This university offers nearly 200 degree and certificate programs and has a student-to-faculty ratio of 20-to-1.
The Department of Community and Environmental Health, housed within the College of Health Sciences, offers a Master of Health Science with emphases on health policy and health services leadership that can help prepare students for careers in healthcare administration. The core courses cover areas such as ethics, statistics and research methods. The health policy focus area includes courses in current issues in the field and healthcare administration. Some courses included in the health services leadership concentration include healthcare management, conflict management and leadership. The health services leadership certificate programs includes many of the same concentration courses as the master's degree program and prepares students for leadership roles in healthcare facilities.
