Broward College enrolls nearly 44,000 students each year on its three campuses in Broward County and has graduated more than 120,000 students since it opened in 1960. The school offers more than 130 programs at the certificate, associate's degree and bachelor's degree levels, including several options in office administration.
Broward College offers a total of eight different programs related to office administration: four technical certificate programs and an Associate in Science program with four different specializations. Students enrolled in the AS program can choose from specialization options in office management, office software, medical office and legal office. The 36-credit program includes core courses in topics like business ethics, office management, accounting and business communications. Students then take four courses in their area of specialization.
Technical certificate programs are available in office management, office support, office specialist and medical office management; these programs range in length from 12-34 credits. All of the certificate programs include courses in keyboarding, business English, ethics and job searching. Specialization courses vary by program and cover topics such as accounting, records management, medical terminology and word processing.
