Located in the suburban center of Santa Ana, CA, Santa Ana College (SAC) is home to nearly 29,000 students and offers more than 300 associate's degrees or vocational certificate programs. SAC's Fine and Performing Arts Department offers three associate's degrees and three certificate programs. Two of these programs provide studies in Web design.
The 30-credit Digital Media Arts Certificate with an emphasis on Web Design offers core and specialized courses in typography, 2-D design and graphic design. The program teaches students how to use Photoshop applications and Flash software. The Associate of Arts in Digital Media focuses on graphic and Web design and offers many of the same courses found in the certificate program. Students learn how to operate design software such as Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. Other courses offered include typography, digital media arts, art concepts, graphic design and 2-D design.
In the Associate of Arts in Graphic Design program, students will take courses in 2-D and 3-D design, advanced typography, photography and drawing. Both degree options require students to complete a 3-credit course in digital media portfolio building and business strategies.
