University of Central Florida

The University of Central Florida is the second-largest university in the U.S., with nearly 60,000 students enrolled in 12 schools and colleges. The university offers 210 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The College of Business Administration awards a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and also offers three MBA programs.

The Bachelor of Art in Business Administration requires completion of courses in accounting, economics and computers prior to enrollment in core courses. Study of a foreign language is also required. Students complete courses in business ethics and law, management, marketing and in the final term, a strategic management class that serves as a capstone course.

The Professional MBA can be completed in 24 months. Students may be required to complete prerequisite courses in accounting, finance and economics. Core courses, which make up the bulk of credit hours, are split into two sections, decision-making tools and decision applications. These courses include business research tools, international business analysis and applied strategy and business. Opportunities for internships or international study are available. A thesis is not required.

Students can complete this Executive MBA program in just 19 months, meeting bi-weekly on Fridays and Saturdays, after a summer orientation. In the second year, students must complete an international experience that lasts 7-10 days. Required courses include economic analysis, negotiation and conflict resolution, ethics and financial management. The part-time Lockstep Evening MBA program also requires the completion of 39 credits and is essentially the same curriculum as the Professional MBA program, but allows students to take evening classes and complete all requirements at their own pace.
