Cornell University in Ithaca, NY

School Highlight: This school has 56 faculty members in its College of Architecture.

U.S. News & World Report ranks Cornell as tied for the #15 top national university for 2017. Undergraduate programs at this school lead to a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.). A minor in architecture is available. Fourth and fifth-year undergraduate students can choose to study abroad for a summer. Students can also earn a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.), in addition to a Post-Professional Master of Architecture and a Ph.D. in History of Architecture and Urban Development.

Harvard University in Cambridge, MA

School Highlight: Harvard's Graduate School of Design offers various student groups in different worldwide cultures.

The Department of Architecture at the Graduate School of Design offers two professional M.Arch. programs; one for students who have completed a bachelor's degree in an unrelated discipline and one for those who already have a bachelor's degree in architecture or design. The department also offers a number of fellowships and exchange programs, including an opportunity to study at one of the most highly ranked architecture schools in Europe. Harvard ranks second in U.S. News & World Report's 2017 list of top national universities.

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, VA

School Highlight: This school's architecture department offers a Design Laboratory in which students engage and discourse on design and architecture.

The School of Architecture and Design also awards a B.Arch., M.Arch., a Master of Science in Architecture and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Architecture and Design Research. Additionally, the school offers continuing education courses in architecture and design for alumni, as well as summer workshops for high school students who are interested in architecture. U.S. News & World Report lists Virginia Tech tied for the 74th best national university in 2017.

University of Texas in Austin, TX

School Highlight: Features a B.Arch., a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and two dual degrees in architecture engineering or liberal arts.

The university ranks tied for 56th in U.S. News & World Report's 2017 top national universities. The School of Architecture offers M.Arch., Master of Arts, Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees in the field, in addition to the undergraduate programs. Students can pursue degree programs in the fields of architecture, architectural history, community and regional planning, urban design and more.
