The university's College of Agriculture and Natural Resources offers undergraduate degrees in Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Education, Earth Studies, Environmental Studies and Forestry. Once enrolled, students receive training in environmental analysis and learn how to solve problems affecting humans and the biosphere. Graduate students can pursue degree programs in environmental design, engineering and geosciences. Ph.D. programs are also available in Environmental Engineering and Environmental Geosciences. The university offers a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies program, through which students become familiar with their physical surroundings and gain an understanding of how much humans depend on the natural world. A minor is also available, in addition to a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a certificate in Environmental Sustainability.

Various areas of interest are explored in the environmental program of The Department of Earth and Environment, the core four being aquatic, earth, atmospheric, and agricultural sciences. A number of local experts in the field are faculty members. Coursework takes place in classrooms, labs, and out in the field.
