Industrial Engineering Schools
Industrial engineering degree programs combine technology and business topics, such as information systems and supply chain logistics. Master of Science and Master of Science in Engineering programs are offered at several highly ranked schools around the country. Three of the top schools for industrial engineering master's degree programs are state universities. The University of California - Berkeley offers a Master of Science degree program in the field with several concentration areas to choose from, while the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor offers both a Master of Science and a Master of Science in Engineering program in the field. Arizona State University offers a Master of Science program that can be completed online. Each of these schools was nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report for 2017.
University of California - Berkeley
Within Berkeley's College of Engineering, the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research offers a Master of Science degree plan with several options. Students may choose to specialize in one or more sub-areas within industrial engineering and operations research, including logistics, technology management, operations research, production and service operations, financial systems, and simulation and decision technology. The department also offers labs and seminars to enrolled students. The school was ranked #1 among public schools by U.S. News and World Report for 2017.
University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
The University of Michigan - Ann Harbor's 30-credit hour Industrial Operations Engineering master's program leads to either a Master of Science or a Master of Science in Engineering. The M.S.E. is for students entering the program who do not already have an undergraduate degree in an engineering discipline. Acceptance into the master's program at the University of Michigan is also made available for students looking to eventually obtain their Ph.D. The school was ranked #27 among national universities and #4 among public schools for 2017 by U.S. News and World Report.
