A local businessman founded Lively Technical Center in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1937. With three campuses in Tallahassee, the 2-year public school serves just over 1,000 undergraduate students. The school offers vocational training to teens and adults alike; high school students may be dually enrolled, attending LTC part-time in conjunction with their high school program.

In the 1,050-hour Certificate in Web Development program, students learn to design dynamic, user-friendly websites. They create sites that are standard-compliant and compatible with all Web browsers. Courses in Web scripting, e-commerce and Web interface design are among those included in the curriculum. Students use industry-standard products to develop effective Web design, and they use coding skills in XHTML and HTML. Software applications used in the program include Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, Adobe Flash CS5 and Adobe Photoshop CS5. Applicants need to have at least an associate's degree.
