University of Florida
The University of Florida offers an online accelerated masters' in Public Health. The 42-credit hour curriculum (rather than the standard 48) is available to students who have undergraduate degrees in a health-related discipline. Two concentrations are offered: Public Health Practice and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Students are expected to maintain an overall 3.0 GPA and a C or better in all courses.
University of West Florida
The University of West Florida offers accelerated bachelors' to masters' programs in which students concurrently earn hours towards both degrees and students can gain up to 12 hours towards their program completion. Accelerated programs are offered in Environmental Science and Nursing in an online format. For students to remain in the program they must have a B or better in all graduate level courses. They must also have a 3.25 GPA or better in their undergraduate coursework.
Barry University offers two accelerated online masters' programs in education. Early and Middle Childhood Education and Mathematics Education are both specializations offered online. The program is accelerated as the core 36 credits are offered in 7-week formats. Students graduate with an MS in Education.
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University
Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University offers an accelerated online business master's program. Students can graduate with their MBA in as little as one year. The overall curriculum focuses on broad concepts in business leadership and management. Students can focus, however, on more specialized areas such as accounting, finance, and marketing.
Program Admittance Requirements
Generally, programs require 60-95 hours in undergraduate coursework if they are accelerated masters' only degree programs, and not combined bachelors' and masters' degree programs. The GPA requirement is minimum 3.0, although some programs require a 3.25 up to even a 3.75 for admittance. Not only do students have to excel in their coursework, but they are expected to have excellent time management skills as many programs are coursework intensive. Some programs expect at least 40 credit hours per academic year.
