Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary
Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary is a Christ-centered institution that prepares students for preaching and service to others. The seminary offers both traditional and online bachelor's and master's degrees. Traditional degrees offered include a bachelor of arts in religion, an associate's in divinity, and master's in divinity and church ministry. Online degrees include a master of arts in religion and a bachelor of arts in religion, which involves one week of discipleship on campus.
Student life at the seminary is very family-centered, as some students have children. The environment encourages students to study and socialize together. The seminary offers apartments and duplexes for single students and families.
East Texas Baptist University
East Texas Baptist University offers several dozen undergraduate degrees, such as mass communication, nursing, pre-physical therapy, and theatre arts. Students can also complete master's degrees in areas like Christian ministry, clinical mental health counseling, education, and business administration.
The university seeks to integrate the Christian faith into the entire student experience. Worship services are held every Monday and Wednesday morning and offers both traditional and modern worship styles. Students who take 12 or more credits in a semester will be required to earn 22 chapel credits. It should be noted that the university does allow students to make up 7 credits by watching services online. Outside of worship, student organizations at East Texas range from Baptist Student Ministry and Fellowship of Christian Athletes to symphonic band and the Student Government Association.
Jacksonville College - Main Campus
Jacksonville College's mission is to infuse the Bible into their curriculum and prepare students for a life of learning and service.
Faith-based student organizations at the college include the B.J. Albritton Ministerial Alliance, which is for ministerial students, a choir, and the Cross Act Company Drama Club, which allows students to share their faith through performance. Other organizations include the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa, an academic honor society, and the Walter Prescott Webb Historical Society.
Jacksonville offers junior college diplomas, associate's degrees, and continuing education credits in private security officer and concealed handgun licensing. Students will need to complete 60 credit hours to earn their junior college diploma. The college offers associate's degrees in science or arts, which require 60 credit hours as well for graduation.
