Midwest Technical Institute was designated a Military Friendly School in 2017 by Victory Media. They are an accredited technical school that provides veterans with hands-on training for vocational careers.
Midwest Technical Institute offers a number of programs of study such as dental assisting, HVAC/R-MAR technician, professional truck driving, and cosmetology. Midwest also offers externships which are hands-on training typically provided as part of the course. The externships available are medical assisting, pharmacy technician, dental assisting, and medical coding. Midwest also has accelerated programs that can be completed within one year.
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGTC) offers veterans the opportunity to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree from the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) through a program called General Education Mobile (GEM). The veteran includes the five required CCAF General Education courses into their WGTC curriculum via distance education.
WGTC offers over 140 programs of study. WGTC also provides the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) tests to military personnel and veterans at the Moody Air Force Base Testing Center or the Valdosta Campus. Veterans may receive credit for their prior education and training in the military.
