Perfect School Search

The IT industry offers many careers without requiring a formal education. Rather than completing an associate's or bachelor's degree at a postsecondary institution, IT positions generally only require a high school diploma or GED to meet the minimum education standards. This is because IT professionals only need to be able to demonstrate that they can perform hard, technical skills, which many people can learn without these degrees and sometimes learn faster and without the extra expense and time of attending these schools. Therefore, there is more value in learning hands-on on your own or enrolling in technical programs that offer certifications at a relatively low cost and in a much shorter time period. In addition to the technical skills needed, it is important to be an excellent communicator with the ability to creatively solve problems while attending to the details. Again, these are skills that do not necessarily need a college degree to develop.
