Even though they are not very common, you can definitely get a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in accounting. Like most BAs, it provides tremendous flexibility to accounting students. BAs in accounting often offer a lot of elective courses with which a student can apply for a double major or a minor. The most common options, at a bachelor's level, to become an accountant are a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting. These are the degrees that most people that want to become accountants choose to get. These three bachelor's degrees take four years to complete and often offer fundamental accounting courses like business ethics and laws, macroeconomics, microeconomics, auditing, bookkeeping, business statistics, principles of management, etc. As a result, getting a bachelor's degree will be a good way to start your career in the accounting field. If you want to further your career, you may get higher degrees like a master's in business administration (MBA) in the future.
