Answer:

Although it may be more challenging than some other online classes (e.g., English, history, etc.), a student can usually take college algebra entirely online. With that said, taking college-level math is mostly only recommended for individuals who already have some positive virtual-learning experience and have not struggled significantly with mathematics throughout their educational career. Otherwise, online college algebra, along with other mathematics courses, can result in serious stress among students who are not adequately prepared to put in the necessary time and effort into comprehending the material. To promote success and a high grade in an online college algebra course, however, a student should do the following:

Set and Maintain a Schedule

Because it is easy to lose track of online courses, successful online learners usually create their own homework/learning schedule, so they don't find themselves procrastinating. Especially in math courses (which usually increase in difficulty as the semester progresses), it is important for students to not fall behind.

Complete the Recommended Practice Problems

In most online math courses, the instructor will encourage students to complete practice problems (usually provided in the course textbook). Even when a student thinks that they fully understand the material, he or she should take the extra time to solve the problems (and check the answers to ensure they are on the right track).
