Do dentals schools care about acceptance rates?
Question:
Do dentals schools care about acceptance rates?
Perfect School Search
Answer:
While it is understandable that the competitive nature of dental school applications can lead prospective students to become frustrated with not securing a place, there are difficult factors to work around for dentistry schools that are admitting a certain number of candidates into a dental program every year. For starters, the nature of the program is very hands on in the latter half of the four-year degree, and it is important for students to get enough attention and guidance from their instructors. This can mean that out of sheer practicality, a dental school can only admit a certain amount of students a year, even if the demand and potential to earn more from tuition and fees is far greater. That being said, if your first dental school does not offer you a seat in your preferred program, it is worth considering whether it is more important to get in with that specific institution, or if searching elsewhere and applying to other programs is a better option in the long run.
