It depends upon the size and scope of the non-profit organization. Management positions usually need either an advanced degree, significant experience, or a combination of both. For non-profit management, if you are working with a small, local organization, you may not need an advanced degree if you have the appropriate experience. If you're looking at a large, national (or even multinational) group, then it is much more likely that you will need an MBA (or other advanced degree) to earn a position in management or administration. If you have any organization in mind, research their current board or executives. Find out what educational requirements current members have and that will give you a better idea of what path you might need to take. You may even be able to find an MBA program with a non-profit management specialization.
