While Carrington College accepts most transfer credits, it is ultimately up to the college as to whether or not the credits will count toward each student's individual degree plan. There are some ground rules for transferring credits, including the fact that every transfer credit must have been completed with a grade of C or better.

Any technical courses taken must have been completed less than three years before enrollment at Carrington College. If a student tries to transfer a technical course taken more than six months before enrollment, they may need to meet with the program director to determine the legitimacy of their training retention. Additionally, a course audit may be required for the previously taken courses, to make sure that the course is legitimate. Any general education courses related to science must have been taken within five years of Carrington enrollment. An overall requirement for transfer credits at Carrington College is that at least 25% of students' degree plans must be completed at Carrington, so transfer students cannot transfer over 75% of their credits.
