Answer:
To be employed as a Social Worker, you will be required to successfully complete a masters degree to be involved at a clinical level. Social workers are involved in societal issues and help individuals deal with problems in their lives. These might include alcohol dependency, child abuse or mental illness. While there are not diploma programs available it is possible to complete a certificate program in the field of social work at some colleges and universities. A certificate in Social Work would consist of lectures, seminars, relevant research, presentations and workshops. Students can choose to be more specialized within some certificate programs so course selection and requirements will vary. A few areas of specialization which might be available would include trauma management, gerontology, substance abuse therapy and more. For most training programs within Social Work, students will be required to complete practicum hours under supervision to apply knowledge and practice communication and problem solving skills.
