Becoming a Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) is a great certification to have if you manage, or plan to manage, a public pool or spa. The certification is also required to have in 24 states.

A CPO Certification has two options for training. The first option is a two-day training program which totals 14-16 hours with a certified instructor. The second option is a hybrid with online instruction and a one day in-person class. Whatever option you choose, all material is covered in the NSPF Pool & Spa Operator Handbook. At the end of the training session, it is required for applicants to take an open-book exam in order to become fully certified. In order to sign up for a program, contact a National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) Instructor or visit their website to learn more.
