How do you start a music career?

Perfect School Search

There are many different paths one could take to start a music career, such as becoming a director, instructor, producer, or choreographer. Usually, a good place to start is to research universities that offer degrees in music theory or composition. Another option is to attend a school affiliated with the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). However, traditional education is often not required in the music industry, especially if one is interested in strictly performing and singing. To be successful as a recording/performing artist, it is important to develop unique and proficient music skills in order to stand out from other artists. Then, try to build connections with fans, communities, and those affiliated with the music industry. Another possible option is to hire a Public Relations (PR) representative, who might be able to find the best path for one's exposure. A PR can be quite expensive, but can yield great results. In general, success in the music career takes time, patience, and a little bit of luck. However, perfecting one's craft and developing a base of fans can greatly increase the odds of success.
