As is the case for most bachelor's degree programs, a student will earn a bachelor's degree in marketing once 120 credit hours (Dallas Baptist University, 2020) have been completed and all coursework meets the program's standards. (Most programs require that the student has an overall GPA of 2.5, for instance, to have their degree conferred.) Although this can vary based on the institution and the program, most students can expect that about half of the credit hours (60) will be dedicated to general education courses, which traditionally include basic English, math, science classes. Such coursework is usually completed during the first two years of undergraduate study. During the second half of a bachelor's degree program, students must successfully pass about 60-credit hours worth of coursework that is specific for marketing. Such coursework will likely include classes in business, finance, advertising, and electives that pertain to marketing and relate to the student's interests and desired area of marketing concentration.
