This is because a medical assistant is essentially someone that performs receptionist tasks in a medical setting, while also helping with patient intake (both paperwork and basic procedures, like taking vitals), cleaning waiting rooms, and helping a medical professional as needed. A chiropractic assistant also performs these different duties that match the job description of a medical assistant, even if the language, procedures, and field itself is not as traditionally medical as a doctor's office or hospital. Regardless, even though the titles are different they still perform much of the same duties, like helping their professional superiors and doing basic patient care, while also acting as receptionists and taking care of the front of house tasks as well.
