Answer:
Massage therapy is alternative treatment for relaxing muscles. Registered nurses in Texas do not cover massage therapy in their curriculum. In order to become a massage therapist, there are 4 steps.
1. Complete a massage therapy program.
In Texas, below are some programs for massage therapy education:
- the Cortiva Institute
- Hands On Therapy
- McLennan Community College
- South Texas Vocational Technical Institute
- South Texas Vocational Technical Institute
- the Texas Health School
- The College of Health Care Professions
- The College of Health Care Professions
2. Complete the practical requirements. This is possible in an internship or school program.
3. Pass the licensing examination. In Texas, there are two licensing examinations, the Jurisprudence Exam and the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEX).
4. Apply for a state license. You can do this through the American Massage Therapy Association website.
