Working in detox is going to be considered both a health care and human services career field. While there are those that consider the human services field encapsulating more social service type jobs, the fact of the matter is human service careers are any career that serves humans as it's purpose. So, based on that definition healthcare would actually fall under the human services umbrella.

Either way, these distinctions are really not that important and the clustering of careers into different sectors like healthcare and human services was done with the intention of helping middle and high school students learn about careers and plan for the future. Past that point, the distinction between what career cluster your job falls into is irrelevant except in informal conversation.

So, the moral of the story here is you can say your job is in whatever career cluster you want. If you prefer to call your job a healthcare job, then by all means do so. But if you'd rather call it a human service, you're free to do that as well.
