As a purchasing manager you will be able to oversee the work of buyers and purchasing agents, including to handle more complex procurement tasks. You will be responsible for developing an organization's procurement policies and procedures to ensure that procurement professionals are meeting ethical standards to avoid potential conflicts of interest or inappropriate supplier and customer relations.
As an industrial production manager, you will oversee the daily operations of manufacturing and related plants, including to coordinate, plan, and direct the activities used to create a wide range of goods, such as cars, computer equipment, or paper products. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the median annual wage for purchasing managers was $121,110 in May 2019, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $193,400. Similarly, the median annual wage for industrial production managers was $105,480 in May 2019, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $176,070.
