Construction science and construction management are two degree fields that someone interested in pursuing a career in construction management can earn.

Construction managers typically have a bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, or architecture, or they enter the field through extensive experience in the construction industry. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) predicts that construction managers with bachelor's degrees in construction management, construction science, or civil engineering, and work experience in construction management will have the best employment prospects between 2019 and 2029. You can gain work experience while pursuing a bachelor's degree by participating in a cooperative education program or a construction management internship. The advising department of any school you attend for a construction management or construction science degree can help finding cooperative education programs or internships. Professional certifications are available through the American Institute of Constructors (AIC) or the Construction Management Association of America, and both organizations have information on their certifications, including the eligibility requirements, available on their respective websites.
