According to The Hundred-Seven, almost a third of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) provide online degree programs and online courses for students needing a flexible schedule. HBCUs provide many opportunities for students wishing to finish their studies online, including certificate programs and doctoral degrees.

Accounting online degree programs are offered at the following HBCUs:

  • Bethune-Cookman University: As of December 2019, online undergraduate degree program enrollment has been suspended.
  • West Virginia State University: The accounting program is offered completely online and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools & Programs.
  • Delaware State University: Online programs are completely online and offer the same level of education as the programs on campus.
  • Fayetteville State University: Online degree programs allow students to complete junior and senior level courses online. Students must already have completed the University College Core Curriculum or be enrolled with a partnering community college to be admitted into an online degree program.
  • University of the Virgin Islands: The online accounting program is a part of the Professional Series, which are certificates and courses in business or education, and taught by experts. Some courses can be completed in one to four weeks.
