Answer:
The Phoenix Police Department doesn't have education or experience requirements beyond a high school diploma or GED
The phoenix Police Department has two routes to be hired from out of state. The fast track program has three steps that permit hiring in two trips. The first step is downloading and completing their background packet, which has further instructions. The second step is to mail the packet back, and a background detective will review the packet and invite the most qualified applicants. If the applicant is accepted, they will be contacted by a background detective and invited to phoenix for a written exam.
The other route involves three trips to Phoenix, the first for a written exam and physical agility assessment. If the applicant passes, they will have the opportunity to submit a background packet. The second trip involves an interview with a background detective, polygraph, and an update to the physical agility assessment. After the background detective completes their investigation the applicant will return to phoenix to sign hiring paperwork, and undergo medical examination psychological screening, and drug testing. The phoenix police department pays recruits to attend the police academy. They recommend calling them at the number listed on their page for questions about eligibility.
