Market Research Analyst

The goal of any market research analyst is to find out what potential customers want, and how much they are willing to pay for a product or service. Analysts will use data to create charts and readouts for clients and management to use for future strategy in marketing. These visual aids and information are then used to develop a marketing strategy to maximize the profits gained from the products or services offered by the company. Future trends can also be predicted by market research analysts, who need at least a bachelor's degree to begin their career. Positions involving research may call for a master's.

Operations Research Analyst

Research analysts in operations can find problems in the real world as they relate to business. They might improve production schedules and solve problems involving distribution. Operations research analysts need critical thinking skills to make strategic decisions based on their findings and provide recommendations to management. Typically, a master's degree is recommended for a job as an operations research analyst, but a bachelor's might be sufficient for positions at the entry level.

Training and Development Manager

Training and development managers come up with new methods of training that are designed to improve the performance of a company's staff. They can also choose who runs other departments, further influencing the goals of a business. In the private sector, top executives can go by the titles of chief executive officer, chief operating officer, and general manager. Top executives have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, and a substantial amount of work experience before they reach the top level.

Sales Manager

Sales managers use different techniques in their department to bring in new customers, and they also put together training programs for salespeople underneath them. They must work closely with other departments to determine customer needs, inventory issues, and staffing requirements. Figuring out the best solution to integrate all the needs of each department demands strategy skills to maximize efficiency. Sales managers can work in business to business sales as well as business to consumer sales. A bachelor's degree and significant work experience are prerequisites to a career in sales management.
